I spent the last hour or so browsing this section of the People's Daily, China's official Party mouthpiece: International Political Cartoons, which is as the name suggests, a compilation of political cartoons from around the world -- from China, other Asian countries, USA, Canada, Europe, etc. Of course, the Daily essentially serving as a barometer for official Communist Party opinion, only cartoons that express or otherwise agree with the party line are shown.
The captions are all in Chinese (for me, they served as reading comprehension practice for me as much as they served as political indicators), but even if you can't read a single character, it's not difficult to guess from the imagery alone what most of them are getting at -- and understand where the Chinese stand on international affairs.
Regardless of your own political view, it's always good to see things from the other side, and I'm thankful for the fact that through my life experiences and exposure, I've developed an interest in straddling the perspectives of both East and West -- something which the populations of both nations need to have more of.
