Unpatriotic -- so sue me... =P

For the record, in case people don't know by now from reading my previous entries, I am against the domestic and foreign policies and tactics the USA have been employing in the Iraq war.

While I think terrorists are a blight upon the civilized world, I posted the Onion article as an observation to see how far the USA, the supposed beacon of democracy and freedom, have lost the moral high ground, and the morass which the Americans have pulled themselves into.

All it'd take is George Bush standing in front of the UN, admitting he was wrong, asking for help, and before long a multilateral peacekeeping force would be in Iraq, not only helping directly, but showing the Iraqis that the WORLD is there to try and help THEM rebuild their country - and it's not just the big bad US trying to occupy their country. However, for a president running for re-election and in an election year, a Presidential mea culpa is highly unlikely...

But then, maybe President Bush is a great leader after all and understands that the success of this operation in Iraq, the lives of his troops and the future of the middle east are more important than his own political carrier... ;P

has any president EVER admitted that he was wrong? Other than situations like the whole Clinton thing... I can't think of any. More or less they are expected to be perfect, infallable in ways.

1. Admit wrong for what??!!  That Iraq doesn't have the weapons of mass destruction?  We KNOW they have it because WE GAVE it to them during the Iran/Iraq war!!!  They were used against Iranian troops and subsequently following the war, were used against the Kurds.  They are probably buried in holes somewhere.  Of course the media doesn't mention this so that it would make GW Bush like a moron.  But they HAVE it since it was US who gave the chemical weapons to them.

2. I believe GW Bush pleaded before UN many times for them to enforce their own resolutions and help the US troops in Iraq.  Well of course the UN applauded but what heck did they do about it??  Nothing....  Nobody gives a sh*t about UN.

The world may hate the US, but at least they give sh*t about what we do!

GW Bush is a great leader!  Leader lead.  Not conform to the popular demands. Popular demand is for the world to do nothing about these terrorists and let them eventually take over the world.

I don't remember any complaints being filed to fight a war against Nazism or Imperial Japanese!  I'm sure we did a lot worse back then to Japanese Immigrants compared to the Patriot Acts of today.

People forget the price of democracy.  Many lives were lost so that we could enjoy today's democracy.  Soldiers are doing the same for children of tommorrow.  Why can't people simply see that?

sadly, there are no easy answers. we need to pray for our leaders, the troops and even the people of Iraq...
